Who we are

Our mission
AmCham EU speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues. It aims to ensure a growth-orientated business and investment climate in Europe. AmCham EU facilitates the resolution of transatlantic issues that impact business and plays a role in creating better understanding of EU and US positions on business matters. Aggregate US investment in Europe totalled more than €3.7 trillion in 2022, directly supports more than 4.9 million jobs in Europe, and generates billions of euros annually in income, trade and research and development.
History
AmCham EU’s forerunner was established in 1962 as the Common Market Panel of AmCham Belgium. The subsequent years saw remarkable developments within Europe, and in response the European Economic Community (EEC) Committee was formed in 1978 and evolved into the European Community (EC) Committee in 1982.
This committee actively engaged with various European Commission policies and became well known around Brussels for its comprehensive database of European legislation, sector-specific guides to policies and a popular directory of the European institutions. This evolution continued in 2003 when AmCham EU established itself as an independent organisation. In 2023, we celebrated our 60th anniversary with a year of reflections, celebrations and predictions for the next 60 years.

The AmChams in Europe network
AmCham EU is a dedicated member of the AmChams in Europe (ACE) network that serves as the umbrella organisation for 46 American Chambers of Commerce (AmChams) from 44 countries throughout Europe and Eurasia.
AmCham EU works closely with the ACE network, building stronger bonds in EU Member States to build a stronger and more united EU.
